So during the last attachment of Year 1, I was posted to a cardiac ward. I think it was week 2 of my attachment when I met one patient, Mdm Wong.
She was in her fifties or sixties? I can't remember. But I remember bringing her to the toilet for a shower in a commode chair. We talked, a lot. Then one day she shared with me her (past) occupation, a chinese teacher in a primary school. She told me the name of the primary school in chinese. I didn't understand that chinese name so I did not ask further. The next day, I had this really strong feeling to ask about the primary school hahaha, think it's really God. Realised she and mama worked together!
Oh ya, I remembered that day I had an appointment at the hospital and I told Ma all about Mdm Wong. We went to visit her after my appointment, but she was discharged! We even brought Mr Bean's pancake and dou hua :( anyway Mdm Wong gave me her own number on her own record and even asked me to call her to meet up for coffee. Used to stay super near her, like only a few blocks away. Anyway, I kept giving myself excuses for not meeting her. "Too busy" "Too tired" "Next time la"
Last night, Mama suddenly told me "Cher next time when you do things don't procrastinate"
After much promoting. She told me.
"Mdm Wong passed away. My friend attended her wake today."
